Building purchase opportunity.

Assalamu Alaikum,

It is our honor to introduce our Muslim community in the East San Francisco Bay Area, State of California, with its approximately 1,000 members, presenting diverse and wealthy heritage of Islamic traditions from nearly all Muslim countries. It is a young and vibrant community with children and young adults making up the majority of its membership. Darulislam Masjid has been operating for the last 30 years in modest rented facilities in the Walnut Creek/Concord area.

We are in the process of purchasing a church property on a prime and attractive location in the City of Walnut Creek which is very near to Highways 24/680 and Walnut Creek BART station. The building complex is ideal for all our needs. Our purchase offer has been accepted and the property is now in escrow, contingent on securing needed purchase funds.

The property has five buildings, one would be used for prayer for 200-person, two buildings are designed and equipped for use as a school, and the other two buildings are for a library and a youth center. The prayer space can be tripled in size by using the existing spacious (covered) court yard. The existing school facilities are adequate to start an elementary school, one grade per year. The facilities are 6,800 square feet, located on a 34,800 square foot parcel of land.

The purchase price is $1.65 million. The sum of $500,000, in cash and pledges, has been secured to date. We are working diligently on raising the remaining funds from individuals and organizations in a timely manner to meet the escrow closing conditions.
